Dhenkanal: On Wednesday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a series of development initiatives totaling Rs 308 crore in Dhenkanal district.
During his visit, he inaugurated 12 projects valued at Rs 112 crore and laid the groundwork for 10 additional projects worth Rs 76 crore. He also officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Baji Rout Sports Complex, which is set to cost Rs 120 crore, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
Majhi further laid the foundation for four industrial projects exceeding Rs 50,000 crore, which includes solar energy initiatives worth Rs 30,000 crore.
He emphasized the ambition to transform Dhenkanal into a hub for solar energy, stating, "Our aim is to harness solar energy not just for Odisha but for the entire nation," and noted that these projects are expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 26,400 individuals.
Majhi reaffirmed his administration's dedication to fulfilling the public's expectations, mentioning, "With just eight days left until the completion of our first year in office, we are swiftly delivering on our promises. We will uphold the trust placed in us by the people."
The Baji Rout Sports Complex will feature a football field, a synthetic athletic track, a hockey training facility, an indoor stadium, a swimming pool, a hostel, and various other amenities.
Industries Minister Sampada Chandra Swain remarked that the Majhi administration is actively working to boost employment within the industrial sector.
Food and Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra highlighted the importance of maintaining public trust in a democracy, stating that the Majhi government has been committed to fulfilling its promises since day one.
